The SL 72 was first introduced in 1972 as part of adidas' SL (Super Light) range of running shoes. It was designed as a lightweight shoe specifically for running and athletics and immediately stood out with its streamlined and minimalist design and material combination. The premium leather upper with suede detailing honors the shoe's running roots, while an EVA midsole and rubber outsole ensure lightweight shock absorption and good grip.
